🐕 Why do I need a dog car seat?
A loose dog slides across the seat at every turn, climbs into the footwell, and pulls your eyes off the road. This seat raises your dog so it can see out of the window and keeps it in one place, clipped to its own harness.

There is no federal law, but three states require restraint: New Jersey ($250 to $1,000), Rhode Island (up to $200) and Hawaii ($57 to $97). Nine more can cite an unrestrained dog under distracted-driving laws. Everywhere else it is not required — it is simply safer.
