French Bulldogs, Pugs and Boston Terriers are built differently from most small dogs: stocky bodies, short legs and short noses. They usually weigh between 15 and 28 lbs, which is more than a toy-breed seat is made for.
Which size?
Most Frenchies, Pugs and Boston Terriers fit our Medium seat, made for dogs from 15 to 35 lbs. A very small Pug close to 15 lbs may be fine in the Small; if in doubt, take the larger size so the dog can turn around and lie down.
Why short-nosed breeds need extra care
- Keep the car cool and the vents pointed at the back seat. Short-nosed dogs overheat faster.
- Use a harness, never a collar, with the clip inside the seat.
- Never leave a dog alone in a parked car.
Why a raised seat helps
